It connects you to your Twitter account immediately and it lets you tweet, view messages and perform other actions at a moment's notice. It provides you with nothing more and nothing less than you actually need to interact with people on Twitter, which makes it an ideal application.

Anatine is offered completely free of charge, for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Its core components are distributed in a ZIP archive and you only need to extract them and run an executable, instead of going through an installation process. The hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any prerequisite tools or services.

The application comes with a compact and minimalistic user interface. Once you log into your Twitter account, Anatine will immediately display all the new tweets, from people you are following. You can click links to view their related content on your default browser and you can also view images and play videos directly on the application's user interface. The application displays a "New Tweets" button at all times, so you can jump back at the top and show all the new posts immediately. Additionally, you can find an option for posting new tweets, in the bottom right corner of the interface.

Besides viewing and posting tweets, you can also view notifications, and private messages. They are listed on the same interface, on separate tabs. You can also search for anything on twitter. What's more, the application displays a list of popular keywords. A single click is all it takes to reveal everything related to a keyword. Furthermore, the results can be filtered to show the top ones or the latest.
